The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said on Friday, Sept. 8 that the P35.5 million Mega Lotto jackpot had been won by a recipient of its Individual Medical Assistance Program (IMAP).

The lucky bettor, who is from Lanao Del Sur, correctly guessed the 26-40-06-12-44-14 Mega Lotto winning digit combination during the PCSO draw on June 26.

According to PCSO, the winner received P50,000 financial aid from the organization's medical assistance program in 2016 to help pay for his hospitalization costs after suffering from minor stroke.
Thirty percent of PCSO's earnings are allocated for charitable donations.
“Mas lalo akong na-engganyo na maglaro ng Lotto dahil napatunayan ko na sa bawat taya ko, may makabuluhang napupuntahan ito at lubos akong nagpapasalamat (I am even more encouraged to play the Lotto because I have proven that with every bet I make, it can lead to something meaningful and I am truly grateful),” he told the PCSO.
He also claimed that if it were not for his wife pressuring him to play the lotto that day because of the bad weather, his luck would not have happened.
“Nagdalawang isip na akong tumaya kasi malakas ang ulan ng gabing iyon. Pero sabi ni misis, sasamahan na lang daw niya ako (I was having second thoughts about placing a bet because it was raining heavily that night. But my wife said she would accompany me),” he said.
P58.9-M Grand Lotto jackpot winner
Meanwhile, another lucky winner went to PCSO to claim the P58.9 million Grand Lotto 6/55 jackpot that was won last July 5.

The lotto player from Pangasinan, who correctly guessed the 05-01-27-26-44-11 winning digit combination, told the PCSO that the combination was his family's birthdates and ages.
