P74M 'counterfeit' mobile phone accessories seized in Manila -- NBI
More than P74 million worth of alleged counterfeit cellular telephone accessories have been seized in Quiapo, Manila by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
In a statement issued on Friday, Sept 29, the NBI said: “The implementation of the Search Warrants resulted in the seizure of substantial quantity of counterfeit batteries, LCD’s (liquid crystal display) chargers, and earphones bearing the trademark 'Huawei' worth P74,738,072."
The seizure of the suspected counterfeit products was done by agents of the NBI's National Capital Region (NBI-NCR) last Sept. 27, the NBI said.
It said the search warrants were implemented in seven warehouses within the High Infinity building and a store in Manila City Plaza in Quiapo.
The NBI's statement did not say if suspects were arrested.
