Three foreign nationals who held a Vietnamese woman captive were arrested during a rescue operation in Pasay City on Thursday, Sept. 28.
Col. Froilan Uy, city police chief, identified the suspects as Mai Ngoc Huyen and Tran Duy Anh, both Vietnamese nationals; and Wang Jie, a Chinese national.
Uy said the victim was held captive by the suspects on Sept. 24 at Ava Hotel in Pasay City.
He said the boyfriend of the victim, who is a Singaporean, reported to the police that his girlfriend was being held the suspects despite paying the amount of P900,000.
Uy said the police immediately conducted a rescue operation at around 3:00 a.m. at Unit 22F of Gardens by the Bay in Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City where the victim and the suspects were staying.
The suspects were detained at the police custodial facility after their arrest. Appropriate charges will be filed against them, police said.
