PDL, visitor caught in possession of shabu at Bilibid -- BuCor
A person deprived of liberty (PDL) and a visitor were caught in possession of illegal drugs at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said on Wednesday, Sept. 27.
The BuCor identified them as PDL Angelito Garcia and visitor Jacqueline Joson who has been turned over to the Muntinlupa City police.
It said that Garcia was found in possession of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, by patrolling members of the NBP's Special Patrol Unit inside the Maximum Security Compound.
It said that members of the Special Patrol Unit decided to approach Garcia who was "uneasy seeing members of the unit." It also said that Garcia "was frisked and searched which resulted in the confiscation of 19 sachet of suspected shabu inserted in front of the waistline of his shorts."
The seized suspected shabu has been turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency,” it noted.
In the case of Joson, BuCor said that she was found in possession of 51 grams of shabu during inspection.
It said that "Joson placed the shabu in a plastic and hid it in her private parts with the use of electrical tape.”
“Report said that Joson was scheduled to visit PDL Joseph Francisco of Dorm 4B Sputnik member from Medium Security Compound,” it also said.
