'Bagong Pilipinas' to bring out the best in Filipino — Marcos

President Marcos believes that the new "Bagong Pilipinas" brand of governance will bring out the best in every Filipino as it is touted to usher in a new era of national development.

Marcos said this following the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) launch on Sept. 23. The program consolidated different government services and brought them to different areas in the country.

In an interview following the event, the President said the Philippines will rely on Filipino talent as the world transforms, especially following the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Ang mundo nagbago na, kailangan natin magbago rin (The world has already changed. We need to change as well)," he said.

"Ngunit ang pagbabago na dala natin ay yung nasa ugali ng Pilipino. Ngayon, ang sinasabi natin ay sayang naman at napakagaling ng Pilipino (The change we're going to bring is in the Filipino attitude. We think it would be a waste since Filipinos are skilled)," he added.

President Marcos particularly mentioned using the skills of Filipinos to boost the country's different sectors.

"Kung minsan ay yung sistema, ang mga sector, yung mga sa trabaho, sa agrikultura, lahat ‘yan ay hindi talaga napapakinabangan ng mga husay at galing nila (Sometimes the system, sectors, jobs, and agriculture, they are not utilizing their skills)," he said.

"Kaya’t ang Bagong Pilipinas, lahat po tayo magsama-sama. Lahat ng ating galing, lahat ng ating sipag para sa ikabubuti ng ating minamahal na Pilipinas (That's why under the Bagong Pilipinas, we will work together. All of our skills and diligence for the betterment of our beloved Philippines)," he added.

The two-day Serbisyo Fair hosts 75 programs from 29 government agencies.

Malacañang aims to replicate the BPSF in every province to hasten the delivery of government services to the far corners of the country.
