Salu-salo Agroecology Fair 2023: Celebrating agroecology and sustainable urban farming

Today, on September 23, 2023, from 7 AM to 5 PM, the Rock Garden at Quezon City Memorial Circle will be buzzing with the lively atmosphere of sustainable agriculture and eco-conscious living as it hosts to the much-anticipated "Salu-salo Agroecology Fair." Organized by Agroecology X, a community comprised of a diverse range of individuals and organizations deeply committed to the principles of agroecology.

The fair aims to promote agroecology and urban farming as crucial components of climate-friendly agriculture. It will provide a platform for farmers, producers, and small businesses to showcase their organic produce and climate-friendly products. Visitors can explore various booths offering a wide range of sustainable goods, including organic fruits and vegetables, eco-friendly products, and much more.

One of the highlights of the event is a series of cooking demonstrations, where attendees will have the opportunity to learn innovative ways of preparing delicious meals. In addition, the Salu-salo Agroecology Fair will also feature several informative seminars and training sessions. Participants can attend a bio-fertilizer and pesticide training, where they will learn about environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional fertilizers and pesticides.

Another seminar that visitors can look forward to is the container gardening seminar. This session will provide valuable insights and practical tips on how to grow plants in limited spaces, such as balconies or small gardens. Furthermore, a composting seminar will be conducted to educate attendees about the importance of composting as a sustainable waste management practice.

The Salu-salo Agroecology Fair seeks to raise awareness about sustainable food systems, climate change, and the crucial role of agroecology in addressing these challenges. By showcasing climate-friendly products and services, the event aims to inspire individuals to support local and organic agriculture as part of climate solutions.
