'Every one of us is in danger': Teachers denounce violent attack on principal
A group of teachers on Thursday, Sept. 21, vehemently condemned the “senseless violence” that took place in Nueva Ecija where a public school principal was shot and injured.

“Every one of us is in danger if one of us is threatened,” the Teachers Dignity Coalition (TDC) said, referring to the shooting of a public school principal in Sto. Tomas North, Jaen, Nueva Ecija.
“Every act of violence is alarming, but it is particularly disturbing when it threatens the physical safety of people in places of learning,” The Teachers Dignity Coalition-Central Luzon Teachers Union (TDC-CLTU) said. “This is because schools are places where children learn and grow,” it added.
TDC-CLTU noted that the images and videos taken after the shooting that have been shared on both mainstream and social media platforms are “horrifying.”
The victim, TDC-CLTU said, was “shot seven times by assailants riding motorcycles right at the gates of said school, in front of students, teachers, and parents.”
“We take a firm stance against any and all forms of violence and uphold the value of a safe and nurturing environment for the sake of our children, teachers, staff, and the entire school community,” the group said.
As it sought justice for the victim, TDC-CLTU also called on the authorities, local government units, DepEd officials, and security personnel to “guarantee the safety of our schools.”
