DepEd condemns shooting of Nueva Ecija school principal
The Department of Education (DepEd) issued a statement on Tuesday, Sept. 19 vehemently condemning the recent shooting of a public school principal at Sto. Tomas North in Jaen, Nueva Ecija.

"We denounce any acts of injustice towards our personnel, learners, and stakeholders,” Deped said.
According to the report, the suspects, who were riding in tandem, shot the principal seven times, leaving him wounded last Sept. 19, as he was about to enter the gate in front of the Sto. Tomas Elementary School.
The victim was taken to the Nueva Ecija Medical Center for treatment.
Meanwhile, classes at the Sto. Tomas Elementary School were suspended while an investigation into the incident was conducted.
DepEd emphasized its commitment to keeping schools and communities as "zones of peace for every Filipino."
It also said it is actively coordinating with the concerned field offices and the police in order to apprehend those responsible for the heinous crime.
