Being able to understand your usage patterns/habits - monthly data, talk and text usage - will greatly help you determine the right plan type and data allowance. For the process of selecting a mobile plan that would fit my budget while meeting my communication needs, I've taken into account network coverage, data allowance, data speeds, quality, plan flexibility, etc.
I have recently considered upgrading to DITO Mobile Postpaid FlexPlan 888. DITO Mobile Postpaid FlexPlan is the latest mobile service of DITO. Customers can choose either to get a SIM-only plan with a lock-in period of 6 months or a Handset Plan with a lock-in period of 24 months.
I personally chose the DITO Mobile Postpaid FlexPlan 888 (SIM-only) as it perfectly matches my needs. With only about a week of use, it is still premature to evaluate in depth. But allow me to give you the basic need-to-know features of why I chose this plan.
Network coverage: DITO is the country's third-largest telecommunications company. It covers 36 cities nationwide with network expansion in the provinces of Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Cebu and General Santos.
Data allowance: Choosing a plan that matches your data needs can be quite tricky. Obviously, I don't want to overpay for excess data that I won't be able to use. And, I would surely hate a plan with too little data as excess data means added charges.
The FlexPlan 888 has 40GB monthly data allocation plus a bonus 20GB of 5G data per month. For the type of work that I do, I'd say this is just the appropriate data allowance that I need.
Talk and Text: For my voice and messaging requirements, the FlexPlan 888 offers unlimited calls and texts to all networks.
International and roaming options: Due to work,I travel frequently which is why international and roaming capabilities are important for me. Although this feature I have yet to test, on print DITO has the DITO ROAM Mate feature that offers seamless connectivity even when you are overseas. This affordable service is available in 72 different countries around the world.
International Direct Dialing (IDD) and international text is also available. DITO has an ongoing promo for only P50 you get 25 minutes IDD outgoing calls for 15 days available in USA, Canada, Puerto Rico, China, Singapore, Malaysia and South Korea. Apart from this, subscribers get an additional 1GB for Messenger, Viber and Whatsapp.
Plan flexibility: Because of various factors and circumstances, needs change. Needs are dynamic and can change over time. Hence, I need a plan that can adapt to life's changes. Good thing the FlexPlan 888 (SIM-only) has a lock-in period of only 6 months. And so when the need for a plan with more data allocation arises or perhaps I need to be more budget conscious, it's good to know that I can easily switch plans when the need arises.
Additional features: The DITO Mobile Postpaid FlexPlan 888 comes with a 12 months Prime Video subscription. This means I get to enjoy unlimited streaming and ad-free uninterrupted viewing on Prime Video, Amazon's video streaming service.
In addition to this, I can get 40% savings when I avail of its Advance Pay feature. DITO's Advance Pay feature lets you pay for various data packs for 3, 5 or 12 months in advance offering more savings and convenience.
Apart from affordability and reliability, DITO makes everything easier for its subscribers through the DITO app. Through the subscriber's personal account dashboard, they can manage their account, check real-time usage and balance, manage top-ups and subscriptions, purchase load and other promos, get help through chat and more!
Undoubtedly, mobile phones have become indispensable. Staying connected online is great, but it can also be expensive. The cost of connectivity can just easily add up.
