PAO's Acosta warns vs fake social media accounts using her name
Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) Chief Persida V. Rueda-Acosta on Monday, Sept. 18, warned the public against fake social media accounts which claim to be her accounts.
“Scammers might use these fake accounts to the prejudice of unsuspecting innocent persons,” Acosta posted on her official Facebook page.
She identified the two fake accounts as https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100075944028806 and https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100082253745297
She asked the public to her help her “ask Facebook to delete these two fake account using my name.”
Acosta has repeatedly warned the public over the years against fake social media accounts claiming to be hers. Last year, the PAO chief denied she owned the Facebook account that claimed she was running for President.
“It illegally uses the pictures of PAO Chief Persida Acosta without any authority — purposely to deceive the public that she is running for President,” she said last year.
Also last year, Acosta issued an advisory that she has not authorized any person to use her name in their loan applications.
“Para sa kaalaman po ng publiko, wala pong kinalaman ang inyong lingkod po sa mga hinahabol na may utang dahil wala po akong basbas na gamiting nila ang pangalan ko sa kanilang aplikasyon at hindi ko po sila kilala.(For the information of the public, I have nothing to do with these loans since I have not granted permission to have my name used in any of them),” she pointed out.
