Top-notch resource persons to grace Caritas PH Academy executive course


Caritas Philippines, a social development agency of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference (CBCP) announced the guest speakers for the upcoming launch of its first executive course on servant leadership and pastoral management for bishops of the Philippine Catholic church.

The academy is organizing the course, titled "Executive Course on Servant Leadership and Pastoral Management in Our Times," which will be held from Sept. 18 to 23 at the Caritas Philippines Development Center in Tagaytay City.

As reported by Radio Veritas on Tuesday, Sept. 12, Nobel Peace Prize laureate Maria Ressa is set to be one of the prominent speakers who will grace the event.

Ressa is not only a 2021 Nobel laureate but also the co-founder of Rappler, a Filipino news website. Her work is widely recognized for its commitment to safeguarding media freedom.

Alongside Ressa, other speakers include Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Pro-Prefect for the section of evangelization of Dicastery of Evangelization; CBCP President Bishop Pablo Virgilio David; Attorney Tony La Vina, Associate Director of Climate Policy and International Relations Manila Observatory, Archbishop Gilbert Garcera of Archdiocese of Lipa; Bishop Gerardo Alminaza of Diocese of San Carlos, Vice-Chair, ECSAJP (Episcopal Commission on Social Justice and Peace); and Jonas Tetangco Country Representative, Catholic Relief Services Philippines.

Other guests also include Eleazar Gomez, Consultant of Caritas Asia; Claire Papa, Vice President for External Affairs UNILAB, Inc.; Father Carmelo Caluag, Head of Caritas Philippines’ Alay Kapwa, and Randy Ramos of Caritas Fund Management Team.

The organization said that the significance of this event features “top-notch resource persons who share Caritas Philippines' collective vision.”

This vision centers on enhancing and strengthening processes, services, advocacies, and accountability mechanisms within the Catholic dioceses across the country.
