Phivolcs: No tsunami threat from 6.4-magnitude Cagayan quake
There is no tsunami threat in the Philippines after the 6.4-magnitude earthquake recorded in Dalupiri Island, Cagayan on Tuesday night, Sept. 12, said the Philippine Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

"No destructive tsunami threat exists based on available data," Phivolcs said.
Meanwhile, as per the data from Phivolcs, earthquakes of that size may cause "unusual sea level disturbances."
"However, earthquakes in this size may generate unusual sea level disturbances that may be observed along coasts near earthquake epicenter of Calayan, Cagayan," Phivolcs added.
Phivolcs also said that "no action is required" as no "there is no tsunami threat from this earthquake." (Lizst Torres Abello)
