Super typhoon “Egay” may have left the country last week but the devastation it left was continuously felt as two more fatalities were reported by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), which brought the death toll to 29 as of Friday, August 4.
The NDRRMC said 14 fatalities were logged in Cordillera Administrative (CAR), including two newly reported deaths.
Meanwhile, eight deaths were noted in Ilocos Region (Region 1); four in Calabarzon (Region 4A); two in Western Visayas (Region 6); and one in Davao Region (Region 11).
A total of 805,621 families or 3,028,040 individuals have also been affected in 14 regions. There were 165 persons who got injured while 11 others remained missing in CAR, Cagayan Valley (Region 2), and Region 1.
Of those affected, a total of 15,473 individuals or 57,226 individuals were still staying in 648 evacuation centers.
The NDRRMC said P248 million worth of relief assistance has been provided to all the typhoon victims.
Egay left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on July 27.
