President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said those willing to help the government are welcome to join his party, the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP).

Marcos said this after he bared on Thursday, Aug. 24, that the PFP is open to a coalition with other political parties to make it stronger ahead of the midterm elections.
In an interview with reporters in Zambales, the President said those who support the government, including the party’s candidates in the elections, are welcome to join the PFP.
“As the saying goes, politics is a game of addition,” he said on Friday morning, Aug. 25.
“Whoever cares to join us, support our candidates in the upcoming elections in 2025 and 2028, all of the political activities we’re doing, and most importantly, that they are behind the efforts of this government in terms of trying to improve the economy, trying to hold down inflation,” he added.
Marcos reiterated that political affiliation was unimportant as long as those who wanted to be part of PFP were willing to help.
“Kagaya ng sinasabi ko noong eleksyon— nung kampanya, kahit naman sino, kahit anong kulay ng kanilang politika, kung handa silang tumulong, eh bakit hindi natin sila isasama (Like what I said during the campaign, it doesn’t matter who you are, your political affiliation. If you’re ready to help, why won’t we exclude you)?” he said.
“As long as they're willing to help the government, as long as they're willing to help us in pursuing and promoting the policies that we have created for our people. Then, of course, they welcome to join,” he stressed.
In a speech in Malacañang on Thursday, the President stressed the importance of getting the support of local executives, especially the barangay officials, in ensuring the party's success in the 2025 elections.
In particular, he said the barangay and sangguniang kabataan elections (BSKE) later this year will affect the midterm polls.
In an attempt to organize the PFP, Marcos said the party should "align the forces" and talk with other parties to strengthen the group.
