President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. said that the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) is talking to other political parties to strengthen the group ahead of the midterm elections in 2025.

Marcos said this as he led the oath-taking of the new PFP members in Malacañang on Thursday morning, Aug. 24.
In his speech, the President stressed the importance of getting the support of local executives, especially the barangay officials, in ensuring the party's success in the 2025 elections.
In particular, he said the barangay and sangguniang kabataan elections (BSKE) later this year will affect the midterm polls.
"PFP is a political party. And therefore, that is why we are preparing for all the political cycles that are coming very soon. Ang una diyan, as we all know, the barangay elections have a big impact, have a big effect on how the 2025 elections will turn out," he said.
"Kung tayo magiging kandidato, mananalo tayo sa 2025, kailangan natin ng suporta ng barangay level (If we want to run and win in 2025, we need the support of the barangay). So, that is why it was incumbent upon us to now immediately try and organize ourselves so that we are prepared because there is always a synergy," he added.
In an attempt to organize the PFP, Marcos said the party should "align the forces" and talk with other parties to strengthen the group.
"We are trying to align the forces that are – that are like-minded political forces," he said.
"We are going to continue to talk to other political parties and come to an agreement with them para nga patibayin natin nang husto yung ating grupo (to strengthen our party)," he added.
President Marcos believes a coalition with other parties is possible despite conflicts and differences in political beliefs.
"Kahit na nag-iiba ang ating mga partido, kahit na nag-iiba ang ating tinakbuhan ay puwede pa ring magtulungan (Even if we're from different parties, we can still help one another)," he said.
"That's a sort of thing that we will have to work out. Kaya kailangan na natin umpisahan na ngayon (We need to start now) and that’s why we are doing this," he added.
