The enrollment for School Year (SY) 2023-2024 has reached 18.8 million based on the latest data from the Department of Education (DepEd).
The total number of registered students for SY 2023-2024 has reached 18,833,944, DepEd said.
This, DepEd said, was based on the latest data from the Learner Information System (LIS) Quick Count for the incoming school year as of Aug. 23.
As announced by DepEd, classes in public schools nationwide will start on Aug. 29.

The highest number of enrollees, so far, was recorded from Region IV-A with 3,114,341; followed by the National Capital Region (NCR) with 2,354,285 and Region III with 2,062,981.

Meanwhile, DepEd reminded learners under the Alternative Learning System (ALS) that they can also register at their respective barangays, community learning centers, or the nearest public schools.
