Ronie Suan, who has millions of followers on Facebook and YouTube, said what happened was a simple fight between a couple.

“I’ve heard a lot of stories but they didn’t get my side of the story,” Suan told reporters in Tagalog on Thursday, April 3.

Suan admitted that he was detained when his live-in partner filed a complaint against him but denied physically assaulting her.

Suan insisted that he is not a bad person.

“What did I do? Did I kill someone? Did I commit rape? Did I steal? Am I a drug addict? It was just a minor conflict,” Suan said.

Suan denied that his partner sustained bruises as a result of the mauling.

He said he and his partner engaged in a heated argument as she became rowdy and destroyed their belongings, including appliances, inside their house in Barangay Daanlungsod.

Suan said he even tried to prevent the altercation from escalating by going to their room but she followed him there and continued being rowdy.

Suan added that his mother arrived in  the house and was shocked to see the house in disarray.

His mother and partner argued. She reported
the incident to the police and filed a complaint against Suan.

Suan said he did not resist arrest when police arrived at their house.

At the police station, Suan said he and his partner spoke for an hour and patched things up. She  asked the police to let her partner go home.

Suan said that although the conflict has been settled, he was still detained as part of the legal process.

Suan was detained for 54 hours before he was released after P3,000 bail.

He underwent inquest proceedings and was formally charged with physical abuse under Republic Act No. 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act.

He  denied insinuations that the incident was just for social media content.

“It was not for content. It was just a relationship going through some tests. It was a simple fight that was not supposed to reach this level,” Suan said.
