PDEA anti-illegal drugs drive in Cebu City nets 7

CEBU CITY – Seven persons were arrested in anti-illegal drug operations here.

On Friday afternoon, August 18, six persons were nabbed when agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas (PDEA-7) dismantled a drug den in Barangay Basak.

Arrested was the subject of the operation and alleged drug den maintainer Tito Hitgano, 33.

Jerson Barte, 33; Narciso Mahilom, 54; Jorge Baracao Jr., 34; Ricky Gargoles, 38; and Christopher Gelbolingo, 55, were also apprehended after they were caught inside the drug den when the PDEA arrived.

Another man, identified as Wilmor Siega, 34, was in the drug den when PDEA-7 agents swooped down but was able to escape.

PDEA-7 information officer Leiah Alcantara said confiscated during the operation were 16 packs of suspected shabu worth P68,000, buy-bust money, and drug-sniffing  paraphernalia.

Another buy-bust operation past noon on Saturday, August 19, by the PDEA in Barangay Tisa led to the arrest of a 31-year-old man.

The suspect was identified as Mozart Gallego.

Gallego yielded 10 packs of shabu weighing around 60 grams with an estimated value of P408,000.
