DepEd records over 11.8M enrollees for SY 2023-2024 so far

With more than a week passed since the enrollment period in public schools started, the Department of Education (DepEd) has reported that over 11.8 million students have already enrolled for the School Year (SY) 2023-2024.

DepEd's enrollment data shows that as of 2 p.m. on Aug. 16, 11,820,159 learners have enrolled for the upcoming school year, which is set to begin in public schools on Aug. 29.

Based on the Learner Information System (LIS) Quick Count for SY 2023-2024, the National Capital Region (NCR) has recorded the highest enrollment numbers so far, with 1,816,469 learners. 

Following closely are Region IV-A with 1,762,095 learners and Region III with 1,378,741 learners.

DepEd has issued a reminder to parents, guardians, and learners that the enrollment period, which commenced on Aug. 7 and will remain open until Aug. 26.

Moreover, DepEd has also reminded learners of the Alternative Learning System (ALS) that they can register at their respective barangays, community learning centers, or the nearest public schools.
