Cybersecurity and safety technology take center stage at Transport & Logistics Philippines 2023 Expo

Driving innovation: how digital platforms are revolutionizing the transport and logistics industry

Safety and security concerns both modes of transportation and logistics, and the most apparent rising kind of security threat is cybercrime, to which transportation infrastructures and companies are particularly exposed. Because control and management systems may be accessed remotely, the rise of information technologies and their accompanying networks has created new vulnerability types.

The Transport and Logistics Philippines 2023 Expo, scheduled from August 17-19, 2023, at the World Trade Center Metro Manila, will highlight these concerns and the contributions of the transportation and logistics industries to ease doing business and transform the country into a modern economic powerhouse.

The three-day event showcases the latest industry products, such as fleet management vehicles, fuel-efficient solutions, vehicle tracking, shipping and cargo equipment, warehousing solutions, safety and security technologies, and many more to see at the expo. M. Bonoan commented. 

The opening ceremony will kick off the event and will be attended by key business professionals and dignitaries. Undersecretary Elmer Francisco U. Sarmiento, representing the Department of Transportation's (DOTr) Maritime Sector, will deliver the keynote lecture. Among the confirmed speakers are Undersecretary Ma. O Aplasca from the Office of Transportation Security, Michael Ted Macapagal, Chairman of Philippine National Railway (PNR), Captain Stanley Ng, President and CEO of Philippine Airlines, and more. 

The Transport & Logistics Forum 2023, organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines, Inc., will take center stage at the event, with lectures and interactive sessions conducted by experts, thought leaders, policymakers and a panel discussion. These talks will delve into essential topics such as streamlining import/export operations, using the power of e-commerce in logistics, and driving railway infrastructure developments. 

The forum intends to address the problems and possibilities ahead by encouraging intelligent conversations among important participants and guiding the industry toward higher efficiency, sustainability, and resilience. Attendees will have plenty of opportunities to network with colleagues, industry veterans, and possible business partners, ensuring crucial connections are created to support collaboration and progress. 

The event is organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines, Inc. (ICCPI) in collaboration with Olacon, as well as the Spanish Chamber-La Cámara, the French Chamber- CCI France, the British Chamber, and the German Chamber- AHK Philippines. 

The Transport & Logistics Forum 2023 is scheduled on the 1st day of the event, August 17, 2023, from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM at the World Trade Center. 

Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista added, "This timely Transport & Logistics expo is expected to provide fresh insights on how best to elevate our rails, road, airport, and port projects to world-class standards. We most welcome the sharing and networking of participants, hopefully opening opportunities that would impact ongoing transport projects."
