Popular Pinay rockers come together to unleash single
Barbie Almalbis, Kitchie Nadal, Aia De Leon, Acel Van Ommen, Lougee Basabas-Alejandro and Hannah Romawac, have teamed up for a single titled “Talinghaga.”
Released under Waterwalk Records, "Talinghaga" marks the first time these esteemed singers joined together to sing on one track.
According to Almalbis, the genesis of the collaboration was their Tanaw concert last year at the Solaire Theatre.
“Lougee had a ‘song start’ and we pretty much finished the song in an afternoon. We just did some edits and added a few lines through (our) online collaborations since Kitchie was already in Spain by then,” she related.
Almalbis’ parts were recorded in her home studio in Marikina, while the rest did theirs in their respective homes.
Producer Jarlo Bâse and engineer Emil Dela Rosa mixed and mastered the track.
A mid-tempo power ballad, “Talinhaga” has the distinct voices of these pop and rock veterans rubbing sweetly on soaring harmonies and shared verses. At its core, the theme of having a strong faith in the most testing of times, permeates.
According to De Leon, “Talinhaga” is about the “manifold glory of our Holy Creator.”
“While we revel in His glory, we find that we are blessed with His goodness and how His generosity is unmatched,” said the “Sundo” singer.
Van Ommen meanwhile expressed gratitude getting to work with her closest friends in the music scene.
“Each one of us shared our ideas, but most of the actual words we chose to use in the song were from Lougee, Aia and Barbie. The idea is centered on who God is in our lives.”
