James Reid and his artist, Liza Soberano, have remained mum over news that their business partner, Jeffrey Oh, has been detained for allegedly working in the Philippines without proper legal papers.

Jeffrey is James’ partner behind Careless Entertainment, which manages Liza’s international career.

Meanwhile, Enrique Gil has signed with GMA where he’s doing some new projects. Another recent GMA transferee is Joem Bascon. Kathryn Bernardo has wrapped a new film, A Very Good Girl, opposite Filipina Hollywood star, Dolly de Leon. The movie, directed by Petersen Vargas, has a September playdate, from Star Cinema. On its website, it says the film tells the stories of two self-made women and follows them as they navigate their lives.

Kathryn’s loveteam partner, Daniel Padilla, is also working on his own via a horror suspense-thriller.

By the way, I hope that ABS-CBN’s movie arm, known for its excellent creative content, shall continue producing films, to pick up where it left off.

Just when people had thought Pops Fernandez has made her quiet exit from the entertainment scene for good comes the news that she has released a comeback single.

The song is called “Always Loved,” which the singer-actress herself co-wrote with Jeremy G, SAB, Trisha Denise, and Jonathan Manalo.

Pops announced her return to recording July 23 on “ASAP Natin ‘To” in celebration of her 40th year in the industry.

A special production number had singers Jona, Klarisse de Guzman, and Morissette performing some of Pops’ OPM hits.

Released under Star Music, “Always Loved” unveils a message of love without the need for validation.

Pops may have quieted down the past few years which she devoted to other endeavors, like producing. In 2022, she revived her performing career by doing shows with Hajji Alejandro, Marco Sison, Nonoy Zuniga, and Rey Valera across the United States.

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) launched Responsableng Panonood at Trinoma Mall, Quezon City.

MTRCB Chairperson Lala Sotto-Antonio said, “RP Campaign is the Board’s response to the ever-evolving media landscape. Mindful of the benefits and disadvantages of the media evolution, we encourage Filipinos to practice responsible viewership, to ‘Klik responsibly’.”

"Values begin at home," Sotto-Antonio said. "The family unit serves as the bedrock of our society.”

Board Member Dr. Lillian :Ali" Gui, a registered psychologist said: “Huwag natin palakihin ang mga anak natin sa piling ng cellphone."

Introduced at the event was  Klik, the MTRCB mascot, and the bouncy jingle, “Iklik mo ‘yan.”
