A one-of-a-kind book titled "Anatomy of a Crazy Book" will be launched this August 11 by former ad man, English professor, and newspaper columnist Jess Saplala. The author describes the volume as "crazy" only because it tackles a spectrum of widely diverse topics, each of which is a magnet in itself and can be read independently. This virtually makes its thirteen chapters a portable mini-library that the author has intentionally designed to inspire, inform, and entertain the reader in a variety of interesting ways at any time as he goes through his day. What ties the book together is the author's accumulated wealth of experience, expressed in learnings, insights, and curated literary pieces on the topics that have greatly interested him, absorbed his attention, and spurred his creativity for many years. These topics range from the inspirational to the spiritually edifying, from management principles to the idiosyncrasies and nuances of the English language, from humorous anecdotes to the sharing of wisdom by great historical figures. The book gives a glimpse of Jess Saplala's checkered entrepreneurial career, most notably as the founder of Well Advertising, the first Filipino ad agency to establish a successful office in the U.S. territory of Guam. "Anatomy of a Crazy Book" is slated to be launched on August 11 at the Hotel San Marco in Davao City, where the author presently resides.
