Feast on the best of local eats and drinks at the first Manila Food and Wine Festival

The dining event, which is co-presented by the Department of Tourism - Metro Manila, is on a mission to make the Philippines a ‘culinary destination in Asia and the world’


The inaugural Manila Food and Wine Festival (MFWF), a culinary tourism celebration presented by the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the MFWF Team, opened with grandeur and flair on July 14, Friday, at The Westin Manila.

Organizers said the inaugural event aims to begin the journey to introduce the Philippines as a culinary destination in Asia and the world, at par with Singapore, Hong Kong, and Bangkok.  

Until July 27, food lovers and wine enthusiasts will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a gastronomic journey that showcases the country's vibrant food culture. A plethora of exciting activities awaits festival-goers, including a Sunday lunch curation by Chef Reggie Aspiras, a series of chef collaborations in the best restaurants in Antipolo, Tagaytay, and Metro Manila, a Makati Poblacion pub crawl, a food stamping program, and the gala dinner finale at the Admiral Hotel, featuring the first-ever collaboration between Chef Sau Del Rosario and Chef Tatung Sarthou.

Joining the MFWF grand launch were special guest merchants and innovators from the food and beverage industry, including Luisita Rum, Sebastian's Ice Cream, Esguerra Kurobota, Destileria Limtuaco, Karabella Dairy, Macaron Macaron, and Mooncakes by the Hungry Chef, among others. MFWF is co-presented by the Department of Tourism - Metro Manila, Our Awesome Planet, The Cebu Food & Wine Festival, Resto PH, The Westin Manila, Shangri La Plaza Mall, Discovery Primea, and Admiral Hotel Manila.
