Pres Marcos appoints BuCor's deputy director general

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has appointed Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) retired general Al I. Perreras as deputy director general of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor). Perreras’ appointment by the President last July 19 was disclosed by Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin C. Remulla during a press briefing on Friday, July 21. “Mahusay siyang abogado (He is a good lawyer),” Remulla said. He said that he and BuCor Director General Gregorio Pio P. Catapang Jr., a retired AFP chief of staff, recommended the appointment of Perreras. Prior his appointment, Perreras was serving in an acting capacity as BuCor deputy director general for administration and legal service. Records showed that Perreras was a judge advocate general when he was with AFP.
