A festive array of opportunities in Iloilo City

PHILBEX, TLEX, and IFBEX are all there to celebrate culture, flavors, wanderlust, and innovations

The Philippine Building and Construction Expo (PHILBEX), Travel and Leisure Expo (TLEX), and Iloilo Foods and Beverages Expo (IFBEX) opened with a celebration of culture, flavors, wanderlust and innovations. The three events were warmly welcomed by its distinguished guests of honor during its grand opening today. Some of the biggest names from Iloilo Local Government Units were Assistant Regional Director of DPWH Jose Ai V. Fruto; Phoebe Zelie Areno who is the supervising tourism pperations officer under DOT Western Visayas; Nene Dela Llana who is the executive assistant to Iloilo City Vice Mayor, Hon. Jeffrey Ganzon; Salvador D. Sarabia Jr. who is the Iloilo City MICE Director, Hon. Jerry Treñas who is representing Iloilo City Mayor; and Engr. Romeo C. Andig who is the provincial engineer of Province of Iloilo and representative of Governor Arthur R. Defensor Jr. Mr. Salvador D. Sarabia Jr., Iloilo City MICE director
In the keynote remarks of Hon. Mayor Jerry Treñas delivered by Iloilo MICE Director, Mr. Salvador D. Sarabia, Jr, it was mentioned that "These events provide platforms to professionals and construction, food and beverages, and travel and leisure industry to showcase their expertise and shared knowledge in innovation and sustainable practices. Iloilo City has always been known for its rich heritage, culture, and architectural firms. Philbex Iloilo 2023 perfectly captures the city's charm by celebrating the seamless splendor of the old and the new," Showcasing Iloilo's world class beauty and cultural heritage that has created a huge impact in its tourism industry, attracting many local and foreign visitors. These three events serve as a testament for mankind’s relentless pursuit of innovations and progress. WSI Founding Chairman, Mr. Joseph L. Ang highlighted during his speech this morning “As we step foot into the vibrant spaces of Iloilo Convention Center, you will be transported into a world where imagination knows no limits. Every corner reveals a new discovery, a fresh perspective, and a glimpse into the future.” While Western Visayas and Iloilo City provide a growing number of opportunities for international  trades, the city’s economic growth for the past 10 years is a truly notable success despite major hurdles brought about by the pandemic. The increasing numbers of skyscrapers and developments in roads and infrastructures is sought to prove that Iloilo City is one of the most business friendly and cleanest cities across the world. Through a partnership with events such as PHILBEX, TLEX, and IFBEX, Iloilo's industry aims to grow even more. And with partnership with private sectors, the city can become a major player in economic growth not just here in the country but across South East Asian nations. PHILBEX, IFBEX and TLEX open from July 13th until 16th, from 11a.m to 7p.m at the ICON  Iloilo Convention Center.
