Olivia Rodrigo makes Hot 100 history with 'Vampire'

Olivia Rodrigo made chart music history this week being the only artist to have carrier singles from her first and second albums reach the top of Billboard's Hot 100 chart. Rodrigo’s latest track “Vampire,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard singles chart this week. It is the first single off her highly anticipated new album, titled “Guts,” that’s due out in September of this year. “Vampire” accomplishes what “Drivers License” did for Rodrigo and her debut album “Sour” back in 2021 when it also debuted as the top single at the Hot 100 upon its release. Alongside “Good 4 U” from the aforementioned album, this is Rodrigo’s third top charting single. Emotional lyrics and captivating vocals instantly catapulted Rodrigo to instant fame at 17 years old. True to Rodrigo's signature style, “Vampire” blends pop balladry laced with rock elements with raw and relatable lyrics. Olivia Rodrigo’s entry into the top spot at the Hot 100 boots out country music star Morgan Wallen’s 13-week domination at the singles chart.
