BuCor apologizes: 'Sorry, no suspension of visitation privileges for Bilibid's PDLs'

“It was a mistake,” said the Bureau of Corrections on its earlier announcement on the suspension until Friday, June 9, of the visitation privileges of persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the maximum-security compound of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City. “Humihingi ng paumanhin at pang-unawa ang buong Kawanihan ng Koreksiyon sa naunang anunsiyo namin patungkol sa pansamantalang pagkansela ng dalaw sa New Bilibid Prison-Maximum Security Compound (NBP-MaxSeCom) (We apologize and ask for understanding for the previous announcement we made on the suspension of visitation privileges of inmates),” reads the BuCor’s latest post on its Facebook page. “Ang dalaw po ay patuloy na isinasagawa sa patnubay ng mga nakatakdang araw at oras ng pagbisita sa loob ng NBP-MaxSeCom (Visits continue to be allowed based on the set days and time at the NBP-MaxSeCom),” it said. BuCor’s Facebook post last week: “Pansamantala pong kinakansela ang pag-bisita sa Maximum Security Compound, New Bilibid Prison mula Hunyo 2-9, 2023 (Visitations are temporarily suspended at the Maximum Security Compound, New Bilibid Prison from June 2 to 9). “Panatilihing naka-antabay sa mga social media accounts ng BuCor para sa iba pang anunsyo (Please continue to check the social media accounts of BuCor for other announcements).” Those posts had been deleted.
