BuCor's Catapang recognized as 'Person of Sincere Anti-Corruption Integrity'
Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Director General Gregorio Pio P. Catapang Jr. has been recognized and named as a "Person of Sincere Anti-Corruption Integrity" by the South Korea-based organization Anti-Corruption Civil Movement General Federation (ACCMGF).
The ACCMGF is a member of the Union International Associations (UIA) which is authorized by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission with 300 associations affiliated in politics, public affairs, education, religion, media, national defense, social welfare, economics, public organizations and non-government organizations.
On top of his recognition, Catapang also received last Thursday, June 22, a World Integrity Prize from the ACCMGF.
In a statement, BuCor said “this prize recognizes the effort of DG Catapang for his participation in the international anti-corruption movement to improve and spread value of integrity and to make the world clean and transparent.”
It said the awarding of the prize was presided by Rev. Kim Hyun Chul and assisted by 14 delegates from UIA.
“The men and women of the Bureau of Corrections congratulated DG Catapang for receiving such recognitions and prestigious awards,” BuCor said.
Present during the awarding ceremony at the BuCor’s headquarters in Muntinlupa City were retired Gen. Al I. Perreras, BuCor deputy director general for administration and legal service chief; BuCor legal consultant Mauricio C. Ulep; BuCor consultant Roberto G. Reyes; and BuCor Director for Administration Gerald I. Aro.
