A different kind of summer spectacle: Giant halo-halo feeds community in Iloilo

There's nothing quite like cooling off with a glass of halo-halo on a summer day, right? Now, picture this—a halo-halo the size of a small car being made right in front of you. This was the delightful surprise that greeted the residents of Brgy. Tabu-An in Estancia, Iloilo, when one of the leading milk brands, Alaska, visited to celebrate the eighth Giant Halo-Halo Festival. The celebration’s halo-halo centerpiece
Organized by the local government of Tabu-An in partnership with Alaska Milk, the event was held at a public venue where residents were invited to watch the trained officers make the massive bowl of halo-halo using no other than the Alaska’s culinary master brand, Alaska Classic Evaporated Filled Milk. First came the crushed ice. Then the sago and gulaman. Sweetened fruits were added into the mix, before it was bathed in liters upon liters of Alaska Classic Evaporated Filled Milk. Halo-halo is regarded as Filipinos’ favorite summer treat. It is refreshingly cold, sweet, fruity, and deliciously milky at the same time. And for those who prefer theirs to taste extra milky and creamy—whether they be moms, home cooks, or even professional chefs—Alaska Classic Evaporated Filled Milk is the usual milk of choice. The celebration’s centerpiece weighed around 40 to 50 kilograms and was able to feed a community consisting of thousands of individuals. Prioritizing the safety of everyone at the venue, DOH representatives inspected all sanitation measures and food handling protocols prior to the start of festivities. Needless to say, residents were very happy to be celebrating the Giant Halo-Halo Festival again, and this time, with a culinary milk brand that everyone truly loves and trusts.
