The Misters of Filipinas Organization has always been known for its creativity and continued self-reinvention year after year after year. Not surprisingly, it has survived even the test of a challenging pandemic and is now prepping for the staging of its 10th edition slated later this year.
As it marks the milestone of celebrating its first decade, the respected male pageant is once again setting the bar higher by adding a fresh twist in the way aspirants may participate in the competition.
“Marami na rin kasing mga bagong male pageants ang nagsusulputan kaya we constantly challenge ourselves to do things differently. We don’t want to get stuck in the old pageant formula, things na masasabi na naming been there done that,” says Carlo Morris Galang, CEO of Prime Event Productions Philippines, the group that mounts the Misters of Filipinas (MOF) search. “This is why, in our 10th year, we will introduce to the online public what we will call Misters of Filipinas Academy,” he adds.
True enough, this early, fans of male pageantry are already eagerly anticipating the start of this exciting online-based reality show. The competition aims to select the first five official candidates for Misters of Filipinas 2023.
Galang has these thoughts on the upcoming competition and what fans can expect and he says: “We usually choose 30 to 40 candidates in our yearly search. What’s certain is that, MOF Academy will serve as a gateway for five of our reality show contestants to this year’s main pageant. However, we’ve not really decided yet as to how many men exactly will be part of MOF 2023 since it is a special year.”
MOF Academy now becomes the third access point for those interested to take part in the annual competition. The other two are through the MOF’s accredited local franchise holders, which may either appoint a representative or hold their own local pageant to determine their contestant; the last one is via the MOF’s call for a public audition and go see, which picks around 20-25 of who will eventually become the official candidates.

According to Galang, the Misters of Filipinas Academy is more than just a competition. It's a platform for young Filipino men to showcase their talents, skills, and personality. The competition is open to all Filipino men aged 18 to 35 years old, regardless of their background or social status.
"We want to give every Filipino man the opportunity to shine and become a role model in their communities," Galang shares. "We believe that every man has the potential to be a Misters of Filipinas, and we want to help them achieve their dreams."
With 10 years now tucked in the MOF organizers’ belts, Galang is confident that their organization has somehow concertized the goals it has set in 2013, when they were just beginning.
"We want to showcase the best of Filipino male beauty, intelligence, and talent to the world," he says. "We believe that our contestants have what it takes to compete at the international level and bring pride to our country."
Galang also emphasizes that the Misters of Filipinas has always been committed to promoting diversity and inclusivity. "We want to celebrate the uniqueness of every Filipino man, regardless of their race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. We believe that diversity is our strength, and we want to showcase that through our competition."
The Misters of Filipinas Academy is set to launch soon, and it's an event that fans of male pageantry and supporters of Filipino talent should not miss. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting competition!
