NBI rescues 3 sisters, all minors, subjects of pornographic materials
Three siblings, all minor girls who were found subjects of pornographic materials, have been rescued by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Ronda town in Cebu.
No one was arrested during the raid conducted by the Cebu agents of the NBI’s Anti-Human Trafficking Division (NBI-AHTRAD).
In a statement, the NBI said the NBI-AHTRAD recommended the filing of charges against the girls’ elder sister and her Argentinian husband, identified as Victor Daniel Ibarra, who is currently detained in Sydney, Australia.
“NBI-AHTRAD recommended the filing of charges for violation of Section 4 of Republic Act No. 9208, the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003 as amended, and violation of Section 4 of RA 9775, Act Defining the Crime of Child Pornography, in relation to RA 10175, the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012,” the NBI said.
It said the information that led to the rescue of the three minor girls came from Australian Federal Police (AFP) through the Philippine Internet Crimes Against Children Center (PICACC).
It also said that the Australian police reported that the Ibarra was arrested in Sydney “for possession of Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Materials (CSAEM) of three (3) minor female victims.”
“Acting on the said information, NBI-AHTRAD together with NBI-CEVRO and social workers from Department of Social Welfare and Development – Region VII (DSWD-VII) office proceeded to the residence of the minor victims which resulted in their rescue,” it added.
