LOOK: Art in the Park returns to Makati City

The popular outdoor event returns for the first time since 2019

The arts scene is indeed returning to it's old pre-pandemic routine. Art in the Park—that popular outdoor art fair in Makati is back, after a three year absence. Sixty exhibitors representing galleries, art collectives, independent art spaces, and student groups are slated to exhibit for Art in the Park on March 19, Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Jaime Velasquez Park in Makati City. Art in the Park is celebrating its 17th edition this year, and per tradition—entrance to the fair is free of charge.

Few know that Art in the Park is a fundraising event that supports the Museum Foundation of the Philippines and its projects and programs for the National Museum of the Philippines. Since 2006, more than P25 million from Art in the Park has been allocated by the Museum Foundation of the Philippines for its projects.

Featured Artists

As in years past, Art in the Park organizers hand picked several artists for special exhibits at the fair. This year’s featured artists are Filipino social realist painter Manny Garibay, interdisciplinary contemporary artist Bjorn Calleja, and mosaic artist Kabunyan de Guia. Also, motion graphics artist Isaiah Cacnio will be projecting his work Beauty in Chaos, a digital painting featuring infinitely complex patterns, at the Park.

A selection of food and drinks will be available at the fair.
