Administration senators have hailed local law enforcers for arresting an alleged accomplice in the recent bombing of the Mindanao State University (MSU) main campus in Marawi City.
Senators Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa and Imee Marcos congratulated the security forces for their efforts as the Islamic City continued to reel from the deadly incident.
"I would like to congratulate our security forces for the arrest of one of the suspects," said Dela Rosa, who is a former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief.
"It was not a lone wolf attack so we have to urge them to utilize all their resources to arrest the remaining suspects especially the two identified suspects," he said of the Dec. 3 blast, which attacked a Catholic mass inside the campus.
Marcos, the presidential sister, issued a similar statement.
"We applaud our law enforcers' arrest of one of the MSU bombing suspects and urge them to persist until they find the masterminds of this hideous crime," she said.
"Meanwhile, acknowledging the historic injustice against Muslim filipinos, let us work together for a lasting peace and genuine development in Mindanao," added the lady senator.
