Malacañang said there is no holiday declaration for January 2, Tuesday.
Presidential Communications Office Secretary Cheloy Garafil confirmed on Friday, that President Marcos will not issue a holiday declaration on Jan. 2.
"Wala po," Garafil said when asked if the day after New Year's Day will be a holiday.
It will not be the same case as Dec. 26, which Marcos declared as a special non-working holiday to "give the people the full opportunity to celebrate the holiday with their families and loved ones."
Meanwhile, Dec. 30, 31, and Jan. 1 are declared holidays.
Dec. 30 (Rizal Day) and Jan. 1 (New Year's Day) are regular holidays while Dec. 31 (Last Day of the Year) is a special non-working day.
According to Proclamation No. 368, an issuance of 2024 holidays, Filipinos will experience at least five long weekends, including this coming weekend.
