Have you noticed how Star for All Seasons, Ms. Vilma Santos, went the extra mile to promote her new movie, “When I Met You in Tokyo,” an entry to the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF)?

Vilma and her leading man, Christopher De Leon, pushed themselves to the limits, appearing in various TV shows.

The veteran actress, however, missed out on the movie’s grand media conference and the ensuing parade of stars due to stress-related health issues. She graced the mediacon, however, via Zoom.

Vilma’s high blood pressure and a case of bad colds prevented her from attending to some of these commitments.

Nevertheless, the actress gained the respect of her producers and co-workers for displaying sheer professionalism through it all.

Vilma and Christopher make up a screen tandem that has stood the test of time.

“When I Met You in Tokyo,” a poignant love story that transcends boundaries, reunites them after a long absence.

At the Parade of Stars Dec. 16, the actress made her presence felt through an audio message she prepared that was played throughout the parade.

“When I Met You in Tokyo” highlights the enduring chemistry between Vi and Boyet.

It marks the inaugural offering of JG Productions, headed by Weng Jamaji and Rajan Gidwani.

Supervising producer Redgie Acuña-Magno noted that Christopher is credited as one of the movie’s creative directors, while Vilma contributed to its narrative. The movie was shot for the most part in Japan.

“When I Met You in Tokyo” opens Dec. 25.
