CEBU CITY – Police have imposed strict border control to prevent criminal elements from causing trouble here.
The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) has received more personnel who will man border control checkpoints to intercept possible individuals who may wreak havoc in this city, said Police Lt. Col. Janette Rafter, CCPO deputy city director for operations.
Rafter said 60 personnel from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion have been deployed to the CCPO to man
border control checkpoints Barangay Bulacao to Talisay City, South Road Properties to Talisay City, and the boundary between Cebu City and Balamban town.
The CCPO, headed by Police Col. Ireneo Dalogdog, thanked the Police Regional Office-7 for sending more personnel to this city.
“This is one of the good things that we see in our security concept. A lot of people are coming into the city and we do not know who they are. At least, right from the border, people can already see our strict security measures,” Rafter said.
Rafter said the strict border control checkpoints will allow law enforcers to screen people arriving in this city.
She said the CCPO has already finalized its security deployment plan for the holiday season.
“We have already deployed our personnel not just for the long weekends. The plan was already incorporated when we planned for the whole Christmas activities in the city which started last December 1,” said Rafter.
