A South Korean fugitive, who has been in the Philippines since 2019 and has been wanted in his country for alleged sex offenses, was arrested last Dec. 11 in Paranaque City.
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) identified the fugitive as Go Taiyong, 44, who was arrested by agents of the BI's Fugitive Search Unit (BI-FSU).
Go's arrest was effected based on a warrant of deportation issued by BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco in line with the deportation order released by the BI Board of Commissioners.
“BI-FSU Chief Rendel Ryan Sy said Go is subject of an Interpol (International Criminal Police Organization) red notice issued in 2020 which stemmed from a criminal case for indecent act by compulsion that was filed against him in Korea,” the bureau said.
“A warrant for his arrest was reportedly issued against Go by the Seubo district prosecutor’s office in Seoul where the female victim filed her complaint,” it said.
It also said that under the complaint, Go allegedly forced the female complainant “to commit an indecent act inside an internet café in Seoul where she worked on Jan. 25, 2019.”
“She narrated that Go showed to her obscene materials saved on his mobile phone and that he even took out his private part and let it touch the victim’s right arm,” it said.
Go is detained at the BI's Warden Facility in Taguig City pending his deportation.
