P1.5M worth of 'fake' products bearing 'known' trademarks seized -- NBI
More than P1.5 million worth of "fake" bags, rash guards, and insecticides bearing known trademarks were seized by the National Bureau Investigation (NBI) during operations in Manila, Pasay City and Bulacan.
In a statement, the NBI said that seized were "fake" rash products with "HOPO" and "OOP" trademarks, bags with "Hawk" trademark, and insecticides with trademarks "Bao Li Lai" and "100 Hundred."
However, the NBI did not say in its statement if persons were arrested during the raid and how it determined the authencity of the seized products bearing the trademarks of what appeared to be known trademarks.
It said the first operation was conducted last Nov. 21. It resulted in the seizure of P853,140 worth of fake "Hawk" bags from two storage facilities in barangay Talampas in Bustos, Bulacan.
The second operation was in Pasay City where P200,000 worth of "fake" rash guards with "HOPO" and "OOP" trademarks were seized, it also said.
The "fake" insecticides worth P450,000 were seized from two warehouses in Tondo, Manila, it added.
