The City of Valenzuela culminated their 400th founding anniversary last Nov. 26, 2023 with the inauguration of Casa de Polo in Barangay Poblacion by Mayor Wes Gatchalian with guest of honor, First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos. The city council joined them as they unveiled the building’s marker.
The newly built structure is a heritage-themed event center nestled between historical structures within the city. Museo de Polo is located inside, a museum that highlights a curation of artworks that reflect the colorful history of Pueblo de Polo.
This inauguration was followed by the launch of the city’s coffee table book, “Valenzuela: History and Progress,” showcasing its rich heritage and historical progress in a span of 400 years. Guests were then treated to a fashion show that featured the works of the city’s pride designers—Michael Leyva, Robbie Santos, and Daniel Manila. Their stylish creations were presented in three themes of Polo (agricultural background), Fatima (cultural heritage), and Agos (future and innovation).
Spotted at the event were host Tim Yap, Senators Grace Poe and Mark Villar, Secretary Mon Lopez, San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora and wife Keri, SM Supermalls President Steven Tan, to name a few.
