Perf de Castro gets take down notice over YT performance of Rivermaya's '214'

Perf De Castro, former lead guitarist of Rivermaya, is pulling out from YouTube all the content he posted relating the band.

This, as a result of him getting a copyright take-down notice for his performance of the Rivermaya tune “214.”

The removal request was issued by former Rivermaya bandmate Rico Blanco.

“Look at this petty BS,” De Castro wrote on his post, referring to the notice.

The guitarist then explained, "I went thru copyright clearance before releasing this version.”

He complained, “Kahit maganda ang passive income, ayaw nya lang talaga.”

Obviously annoyed, De Castro said, “I’m tired of this, taking down all Rivermaya related content from my platforms (by December 1, 2023).”

Blanco is yet to issue a statement on the matter.

Note De Castro was excluded in the upcoming Rivermaya reunion.
