Sweet yet spicy.
That’s the image Julia Barretto wants to project from here on as she was launched as Tanduay’s Calendar Girl 2024.
At the Tanduay media launch Nov. 15 at Elements at ETON Centris, the young actress said she’s now more comfortable with her own skin and that she wants to empower other girls to explore, and establish their own identity.
She said she won’t be bothered if people would label her as a sexy symbol. A compliment, really. “It’s about being confident about who you are. In my case, I have become braver.”
If that inspires to people becoming braver, to come out of their shell, so be it. She issued a clincher, then held back, “Mukha lang akong mabait.”
Before this Tanduay stint, Julia acted in a sexy movie, Expensive Candy, where she played a hooker who falls in love with a school teacher.
In a sense, Julia is following in the footsteps of her aunt Gretchen, who was built up as a sexy star in the 90s and was also a liquor calendar girl.

We are suckers for Christmas and anything Christmasy, like Christmas songs. Every holiday season brings in a harvest of fresh new songs that celebrate the birth of Christ.
This time around, give way to Kapamilya artist Janah Zaplan, who longs for her great love in her Christmas single “Paskoý Nagbabalik” released under Star Pop.
The track highlights the value of spending Christmas with loved ones, composed and produced by ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo.
“This song makes us reminisce memories while creating new ones this Christmas,” says Janah.
Janah has released dance pop anthems “Maiba Naman,” “Eh Ano Ngayon,” and “Dancing On My Own.”
“Pasko’y Nagbabalik” was featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday and Fresh Finds Philippines playlist.
