Carmona Park's giant Christmas tree lights up for the holidays

CARMONA CITY, Cavite – The local government unit welcomed the holiday season with a Christmas lighting ceremony at Carmona Park on Wednesday, Nov. 22.

The event started with a Christmas Zumba session attended by local groups.

Cavite 5th District Rep. Roy M. Loyola, Mayor Dahlia A. Loyola, and local officials led the Christmas lighting ceremony.

“Darating si Hesus sa ating buhay, na siya nating liwanag, at sa kabila nito, maging liwanag nawa tayo sa ating pamilya, sa ating kapwa, at sa ating komunidad na ating ginagalawan (Jesus will come into our lives, as our light, and with this, may we also be a light to our family, to our peers, and to our community that we are part of),” Mayor Loyola said in her speech.

Hundreds of residents posed for photos in the light displays and with the park’s giant Christmas tree as their backdrop.

On November 16, the city government held a Christmas lighting ceremony at the City Plaza, marking Carmona’s first Christmas season as a component city.
