UP Manila shifts to online classes, to implement WFH arrangement on Nov. 21
In response to the ongoing nationwide transport strike, the University of the Philippines Manila (UP-Manila) on Monday, Nov. 20, announced its suspension of in-person classes to shift to online classes.

In a statement, the university said it would also implement a work-from-home (WHF) setup for employees who are not required to report on-site.
However, the online classes will be conducted in both synchronous and asynchronous formats.
Likewise, the university specified that offices and units will implement a skeleton workforce to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of services, particularly frontline, essential, and vital services.
The university also emphasized that employees must ensure their attendance and accomplishment reports are recorded through the online Daily Time Recording System (DTRS).
Moreover, the UP Manila administration assured that it will closely monitor developments throughout the three-day strike and will continue to assess the situation.
Several public universities and higher education institutions (HEIs) have already suspended face-to-face classes to shift to online learning.
