The House of Representatives leadership has sought to retrieve from congressmen their expired and bogus--if any--no.8 protocol plates.
The order was handed down by House Secretary General Reginald Velasco in a memorandum dated Nov. 16.
"This is to respectfully request the immediate recall of all expired protocol plates no.8 issued during the past Congresses as well as all spurious protocol 8 plates which may have come to your possession," Velasco said in the memorandum.
"Kindly turn in these car plates to the Office of the Secretary General for proper acknowledgement," he further said.

Velasco is the highest-ranked civilian official in the House.
Last Nov. 15 or a day before the memorandum was issued, former Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Christopher Co denied ownership of the white Toyota Land Cruiser that was flagged that morning by Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) traffic enforcers.
The vehicle bore a no.8 protocol plate.No. 8 license plates are special plates made for congressmen or House members.
