DOST strengthens connection with telco provider for S&T Week 2023 celebration in Iloilo City
The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) has partnered with Converge ICT Solutions Inc. as the official connectivity partner for the upcoming 2023 National Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (NSTW) in Iloilo City.

In a statement on Nov. 18, DOST said the partnership aims to ensure that all activities targeting over 10,000 participants are accessible and that participants can fully maximize their experience with reliable connectivity.
“Despite the centralization of activities in Iloilo City, the DOST still aims to make the event accessible to people in other areas through live streaming services on our official social media channels and websites,” DOST Secretary Renato U. Solidum Jr. said.
The DOST chief highlighted that the partnership stands as one of the department's milestones in promoting science, technology, and innovation in the country.
Solidum thanked Converge ICT Solutions Inc. for sharing its resources and infrastructure in Iloilo City to provide reliable internet connectivity to three of the four sites.
"As an ICT company, Converge is proud to be an enabler of STEM and innovation in the country," Converge Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Co-Founder Dennis Anthony Uy said. "As I’ve said before, there is no lack of talent among Filipinos, but we just need the proper ecosystem to develop our talents."
“We share in this celebration of NSTW with DOST as their official connectivity partner so that more people can have access to these science and technology activities," he added.
The NSTW will be held from Nov. 22 to 26 across four locations in Iloilo City. This marks the first time that the DOST is bringing the national S&T celebration to Western Visayas.

DOST also said there will be simultaneous science and technology activities in satellite venues within the city, complementing Iloilo's cultural attractions and promoting local tourism with a focus on science.
