No cancellation of classes amid threat posed by transport strike — DepEd


The Department of Education (DepEd) announced on Saturday, Nov. 18, that classes will not be suspended amid the nationwide transport strike scheduled for next week.

In an advisory, DepEd clarified that there would be "no cancellation of classes" as per the department's decision.

“Unless local government units announce cancellation and/or suspension of classes in their respective jurisdictions, schools shall hold classes without disruption,” added DepEd.

Members of the Pinagkaisang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Operators Nationwide (PISTON) are set to hold a three-day nationwide transport strike starting November 20.
