House Speaker Martin Romualdez and Vice President Sara Duterte are doing "okay", at least based on optics.
Thus, said Romualdez's right-hand man in the House of Representatives, Majority Leader Zamboanga City 2nd district Rep. Mannix Dalipe.
In an interview over CNN's The Source on Friday, Nov. 17, Dalipe was asked what he thought of the current relationship between the Speaker and the Vice President.
"I have seen them in a couple of, although I’m not there, but I see they're okay. I've seen them when the President is in his official functions," answered Dalipe.
"We all can see in live broadcast. Everything’s okay," he noted.
The interview was carried out as rumors swirled that there were "talks" to impeach the Vice President in the House. Dalipe brushed these off as just that--rumors.
"I have not encountered or come upon an issue or anything that merits an impeachment complaint against the Vice President. So I'm updated with all that is happening," he said.

"If I base it on the past hearings in congress or what is happening in the House I don’t see any merit in all of the issues that would entail an impeachment complaint against the Vice President," added the solon from Mindanao.
Dalipe said that at the very least, someone may be trying to create intrigue between Romualdez and Duterte in connection with the impeachment issue.
"So to me how I take it, it’s more of an issue who is trying to sow discord between the Vice President and the House leadership particularly our House Speaker, so meron sigurong gustong gumawa ng intriga between the two (so maybe someone is just trying to create intrigue between the two)...So right now I don’t see anything."
Deputy Minority Leader ACT Teachers Party-list Rep. France Castro was the first to publicly mention supposed impeachment talks in the House against Duterte. She has since clarified that these were non-serious talks that she heard from informal huddles of her fellow House members.
