Sec Remulla disagrees to disband task force to end communist armed conflict
The visiting United Nations (UN) rapporteur should not tell the Philippine government what to do with its National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Jesus Crispin C. Remulla declared on Wednesday, Nov. 15.
“Internal mechanism ‘yan sa gobyerno natin (That’s part of the internal mechanism of the government). Wag silang makikialam diyan (They shouldn’t interfere with that),” Remulla, who is a membe of NTF-ELCAC, said during a press briefing.
Remulla responded to the calls aired by visiting UN Special Rapporteur Dr. Ian Fry to disband the NTF-ELCAC.
But he was quick to note that Dr. Fry is free to air his opinion as part of freedom of speech.
He pointed out that the NTF-ELCAC “ang solusyon para matigil na ang paglaganap ng komunismo sa ating bayan at paghahasik ng lagim sa ating kapaligiran (the solution to end communism that spawns chaos and violence).”
The NTF=ELCAD "ay internal mechanism ng gobyerno at tsaka epektibo ito. Nabawasan talaga natin ang kalaban ng bayan (This is an effective internal mechanism of the government. The enemies of the government have been reduced),” he explained.
