'God will give it to you': Lotto 6/42 winner claims P34-M jackpot


A 41-year-old bettor from Sampaloc, Manila, has claimed her P34-million jackpot prize after winning a Lotto 6/42 draw, said the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) on Monday, Nov. 13.

“[Ka]Pagka para sa 'yo, para sa 'yo talaga (If it's meant for you, it's really for you)," the winner told PCSO.

"Ibibigay talaga sa 'yo ni God 'yon. So kung gusto mo manalo, taya ka lang (God will really give it to you. So if you want to win, just place a bet)," she added.

The winner became a millionaire during the Oct. 12 evening draw after guessing correctly the Lotto 6/42 winning digit combination 13-41-06-25-34-42 using the birthdates and ages of her family.

The exact jackpot prize amounted to P34,562,804.20.

Meanwhile, the winner told the PCSO that she felt "speechless" upon knowing the good news on a website. She plans to buy a house after claiming the money.

The winner claimed her jackpot prize on Oct. 16 at the PCSO Main Office, Mandaluyong City.

As per PCSO, jackpot prizes of more than P10,000 are subject to 20 percent final tax under the Tax Reform Acceleration and Inclusion Law or TRAIN Law.

Winners must claim their jackpot prizes within one year from the draw date, or else these will be forfeited and become part of the PCSO Charity Fund.
